I love shoes. Love them. I always have. While I can rock a pair of stilettos given the right occasion, I’ve definitely been paying much more attention to “sensible shoes” since I’ve become a mom, and especially since I’ve started staying home with Haiden and Piper.
Even though I need practical shoes to spend my days running with two toddlers, I don’t want to sacrifice all sense of style while keeping my feet happy. Enter Dansko. I’ve had my eye on Dansko clogs for several months. They seemed like the perfect shoes to pair with jeans and casual pants, but I wasn’t about to buy them in the middle of our Minnesota winter. Now that spring is just around the corner, I’m loving the Dansko Sanibel collection!
The shoes in the Dansko Sanibel collection are a lightweight style that’s definitely a fresh take on the sometimes-heavy-looking Dansko clog. They’re available in leather and canvas materials, and they’re perfect for warmer weather and indoor activities!
Dansko sent a set of “Mommy & Me” shoes for Piper and I to try out. I chose the basic Volley Box Leather in black and Piper received the Vesta Pink Floral canvas shoe.
Since Dansko let me choose which shoe I could try out from the Sanibel collection, I was wondering if the Volley Box Leather would be too sturdy. I second-guessed my choice several times, thinking that I might be better off with something in canvas. It turns out that the Box Leather exceeded my expectations, and I couldn’t be happier with them!
Although the coldest part of this Minnesota Mom’s winter season might be over, it’s still definitely far from warm in these parts! The Dansko Volley Box leather in black is the perfect shoe to transition to spring. I’ve mostly worn these fabulous shoes around the house (almost everything outside is dirty and salty this time of year, and I don’t want to ruin my new shoes!) and I have to say that these are possibly the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn! Getting into the sensible shoes for a stay-at-home-mom angle, I’ve never had a more slip-resistant shoe than these. I bake quite a bit, and my cooking spray tends to get on the floor, making a very slippery surface. Believe me, I’ve skidded across my kitchen many times in the past! The last few times I’ve baked I’ve been wearing my Dankso clogs. Can you believe I didn’t slip, even on a lightly greased surface? I can hardly believe it myself!
As someone who’s ever-conscious of appearance, even when at home, I can also share that I love how the Dansko Box Leather shoe looks with jeans! They look cute peeking out from under a pair of boot-cut pants, and I pretty much wear them all day, every day.
Speaking of cute, the Dansko Vesta canvas shoes for Piper are so cute on her I’d eat them up if it made any sense to do that! These shoes are easy to get on and tough enough to get off that she’s not going to lose them anytime soon. The size 38s are supposed to be around a size 8. The 38s were a touch too big for her, so I put an extra pair of socks on her feet and she did just fine with them!
