Potty-Training Helps :: Cottonelle Flushable Moist Wipes

baby deals

I’ve written a few times about potty-training Piper. Sometimes I can’t believe that she’s not even two and she’s completely out of diapers! One thing that comes with potty-training under two is that my method of communication may not exactly mesh with hers. Throw in a bit of her independent spirit and I need to work pretty hard to make sure we don’t end up with an, ahem, messy situation!

One area that has become pretty challenging is “wiping.” Piper has become adamant that she does everything in the potty process.  She gets undressed, sits on the potty, then gets up and puts her clothing back on. She doesn’t want me to have any part in it (except for dumping out the dirty potty chair, of course!). Since her potty seat is in the living room, my habit has been to wipe her quickly, then take the dirty toilet tissue and bring it with me when I clean out the potty. Since she’s an independent toddler, I don’t get to have a role in cleaning her up, now, either! I wanted to make sure her bottom was completely clean after she used the potty, but an almost-two-year-old and toilet tissue just don’t work well together.

The solution? Cottonelle Flushable Moist Wipes. I’ve found that Piper understands that Cottonelle moist wipes are for cleaning, so she works very hard to wipe everywhere after she uses the potty when she has a Cottonelle wipe in her hand. She then knows that the wipe can go right in the potty and I’ll take the whole package to the toilet to dump it all out together.

Cottonelle Flushable Moist Wipes come with a convenient dispenser that attaches to the wall just above your toilet paper roll. The mounting uses 3M’s CommandLine hooks, so there’s no drilling or nailing into your wall during installation! We haven’t used the dispenser yet, since the pack of Cottonelle Wipes resides next to the potty seat, but you can bet I’ll be installing it as soon as our kiddos graduate to our full-size toilet!

Interesting in trying them?  Head over to the Cottonelle Get Fresh With a Friend site! You can enter your info for a $1 off coupon and sign a friend up to get one as well.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Cottonelle and received product and a promotional item as a thank you for my participation.

(if you start clicking around and looking at different size/quantity combinations, the coupon disappears.) Once you click it, the coupon will be added to your account and you can look at all the different options and choose the one that’s best for you.

Right now, the lowest package price is the 33-count pack of 4T-5T Easy Ups for Boys. They end up being $.24 per pant.

The lowest price per pant is the size 2T-3T Easy Ups for Girls and for boys. These end up being $.17 each after the coupon, Amazon Mom discount and Subscribe & Save discount.

The coupon is still applied if you choose to order with Subscribe & Save or just place a “regular” order.

I have a toddler boy and a toddler girl who both still wear training pants overnight. I definitely don’t worry about making sure each of them has the “right” gender of Pull-Up or other pant on before going to bed :) Haiden and Piper have both worn Cars, princesses and gender-neutral training pants without any issues from either of them.

Wondering if you can use boy training pants on a girl? Haiden and Piper have both used boy and girl training pants without any sort of leakage problems. They both like boy and girl characters, so I don’t see any reason to have more than one package open at a time (or spend more money to get the corresponding gender!).

I’ve also noticed that size doesn’t seem to matter as much when it comes to training pants. Maybe it’s because the little ones who use them have a bit more control and don’t fill them up as much, but I’ve used size 4 Pull-Ups on Piper when she wears size 24-month clothing and she didn’t leak out of them. In fact, they didn’t even look oversized!

Blog Giveaway! Win a Huggies Pull Ups Potty Dance Party Kit!

baby deals

We've been busy potty training our toddler, so I was thrilled when Haiden, Piper and I were invited to attend a Potty Dance Party at the Mall of America last week! I'm a mom blogger from Minneapolis, Minnesota, so this event was right in our backyard.Haiden, Piper and I trekked to the mall last Tuesday and met up with hundreds of other excited parents and toddlers who wanted to see what the Potty Dance was all about. The event was provided by Huggies, and they provided tons of fun goodies for the kids. There were inflatable guitars, feather boas, magic wands, fedoras and other sweet little party favors to keep the little ones busy while we waited for the show to start.

When I say “show”, I mean it! Entertainment was provided by the family rock band, Ralph’s World, who engaged all the little kids and got them up and dancing throughout the entire event. Ralph’s World performed for at least an hour, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! I have to admit, I hadn’t heard of Ralph Covert or Ralph’s World before being invited to the Potty Dance Party, but there were plenty of true fans in attendance, and I’m definitely a new fan! Honestly, Ralph’s World’s repertoire consists of music that’s fun and entertaining for both kids and adults. They even had my shy little Haiden on his feet and dancing! Everything they sung is infinitely singable, and I found myself joining in on most of the songs after hearing the chorus just once or twice. Even one of the dancers who was there to keep the crowd engaged approached me after the concert and said that she appreciated that I joined in the singing! I’m not sure whether I should be proud or embarrassed over that!

We spent a little time learning the official Potty Dance, and I admit I knew it by heart by the time we were done with the event. Even better, Haiden and Piper had so much fun doing the Potty Dance with the rest of the kids in attendance! I really think Huggies has it down with getting kids truly excited about Potty Training. Keeping things upbeat, positive and fun is a formula for potty training success!

After the show, we had the privilege of meeting with Ralph Covert of Ralph’s World. We chatted for a few minutes and he was nice enough to pose for a photo with Haiden and Piper:
